What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda recognises that you are completely unique: comprised and influenced by the energies of the five natural elements.

Your unique elemental composition influences all aspects of your life: Eat; Sleep; Grow; Think; Feel; Be; Create.

holistic statement
Understanding the balance of energies of the elements is the key to avoiding disease and being the greatest life force possible.

Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the Doshas that help us understand our state of balance. See fact sheet below for more info on the Doshas.

Ayurveda is most interested in premiering disease by addressing causal factors that can be indicated from your Dosha, state of Agni and the early signs of disease formation.
Assessing your Dosha requires an Ayurvedic Practitioner to spend time with you. It’s not as simple as taking an online quiz. Please take care to avoid self diagnosing your Dosha.

Upon establishing your Dosha, Ayurvedic remedies aim to align you with your natural constitution and may include:

  • Morning, evening and seasonal routines

  • Diet (your kitchen is a pharmacy!)

  • Lifestyle choices and stress reduction

  • Body work (think Ayurvedic Day Spa!)

  • Yoga and meditation

  • Herbal medicine (including essential oils)

  • Self massage

  • Cleansing and detoxification

  • Colour therapy

  • Mantra snd sound

  • Chakra Therapy and more!
